We advocate for local, state, and federal policies that support the immigrant community.
In collaboration with many others, JFON El Paso is coordinating court monitoring for MPP 2.0. As with all court monitoring, we observe immigration courts to document obstacles to due process experienced by migrants and violations of their constitutional and human rights. We want this to be a coordinated and organized effort for two reasons: To gather observations from MPP 2.0 courts that can be shared with other lawyers, researchers, journalists, and policy makers, and to coordinate observation among the various groups such that we are all making the best use of our staffers and volunteers, especially given Covid-19 Capacity Restrictions.
